Welcome to the World, Milo!

Milo Jack Martin-Rider came into the world on February 28th, 2007 at 4:30 am. He weighed 7 pounds 10 oz and measures 20 inches. Labor was 5 hours from start to finish, and though we did not manage to avoid the epidural, we did manage to avoid surgery! It was so incredible to hold my son the second he was born (not my experience with Eli)! He is nursing like a champ and sleeping well as long as he is closely snuggled to a warm body. Despite the excellent care we received at Hillcrest Hospital, we went home at 5 pm that evening and enjoyed a restful night in our respective beds. Eli seems to be taking all of this in stride, and every so often will announce that there is a baby in the room...he calls him "Ilo." We are so fortunate to have the rotating help of a team of grandparents, as David has returned to work today. I don't know how we would manage without them! Here are some photos of the little dude...the majority opinion seems to be that he looks like his brother. What do you think?
